The Super Mario Galaxy Movie Trailer Arrives, Introducing New Characters Rosalina & Bowser Jr. Voice Cast
Nintendo alongside Illumination unveiled the debut comprehensive teaser for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie on Wednesday. It was showcased in a dedicated Nintendo presentation that focused exclusively on the forthcoming animated feature.
Following up on the successful 2023 release The Super Mario Bros. Movie, this latest chapter will send Mario to the outer limits of the cosmos. Along the way, he discovers a different royal figure and a formidable new rival in Bowser Jr., the heir to Bowser's throne.
A Cosmic Adventure Inspired by Beloved Titles
Much like the Wii-era games that provide its foundation, Mario will venture away from the cozy environment of the Mushroom Kingdom to journey through the cosmos. Throughout his extensive trek, he will reunite with some well-known personalities, for instance the Luma, a popular character from the first movie.
However, it seems Mario and his brother Luigi will battle a different foe in the form of Bowser's irate young son, who apparently commands metallic abilities. Worth mentioning, the teaser for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie is not solely focused on Galaxy-inspired imagery; it also features references to additional popular titles like Super Mario Odyssey and Bowser's Fury.
All-Star Vocal Ensemble Returns and Expands
The movie will see the return of the initial voice actors, including Chris Pratt as Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy as Peach, Charlie Day as Luigi, Jack Black as Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, and Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek.
Fresh faces in the lineup for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie are Brie Larson, who will portray Rosalina, and Benny Safdie, set to represent Bowser Jr. It was announced by the CEO of Illumination, Chris Meledandri.
