Melania Trump's Digital Currency Creators Facing Market Manipulation Fraud Lawsuit

The architects responsible for a virtual coin released by US First Lady Melania Trump have been accused in legal documents of planning a fraudulent operation.

Coin Release and Price Surge

The $MELANIA cryptocurrency were made available for under a dollar each on January 19, just prior to former President Trump was inaugurated.

In addition to the $MELANIA coin, Donald Trump released his own digital currency a few hours before the swearing-in event.

Shortly after launch, the price of the $MELANIA cryptocurrency surged to nearly $14 per token.

Rapid Decline in Value

Yet, the market price then collapsed just as rapidly, and is now approximately a dime – under 1% of its highest value.

In parallel, the $TRUMP coin hit a high of $45.47 and now trades for under six dollars.

Legal Allegations and Investors' Arguments

The plaintiffs assert that the currency's developers organized the maneuver conscious that the digital currency's value would crash.

Mrs. Trump herself is not mentioned in the legal action. Claimants indicated they do not consider she was culpable, but charged the blockchain organizations of using her and other well-known personalities as window dressing for their fraudulent schemes.

Trading Venue Involvement

According to recently submitted court papers, claimants charge executives of the Meteora trading platform, where $MELANIA was originally listed, of setting up a scheme that allowed them to discreetly acquire substantial volumes of the virtual coin.

Associated individuals then rapidly offloaded these cryptocurrencies, pocketing substantial profits while causing the market to collapse, per papers submitted in Manhattan federal court.

Wider Proceedings

The claims about $MELANIA have been included in legal proceedings regarding several other virtual tokens, which began in spring.

Trump-associated entities has according to reports earned in excess of $1 billion in pre-tax profits from various blockchain-associated enterprises and organizations over the past 12 months.
