In a surprising partnership that breaks traditional predictions, Ubisoft has announced an in-game collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising holiday event operates from November 25 through December 22, offering free bonus story content for Shadows players.

Mysterious Questline Uncovered

According to the authorized announcement, "A strange confrontation draws protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a new adventure, where whispers of forbidden ceremonies and monstrous changes resonate through the darkness." The storyline features a "strangely attired woman named Ada" who tasks the pair with traveling into the Gemstone Grotto—a key location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her ally from a secret group.

The mission focuses on "strange trials and a fearsome adversary" and is accessible to all players who have gained access to the Yasuke character.

Recognizable Settings and Changes

The teaser features the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was earlier where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The teaser concludes with a powerful sequence showing a character, likely the prisoner, morphing into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.

Special Items and Additional Content

Players who successfully complete the quest will receive an exclusive katana in addition to numerous artifacts secreted throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also features purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, offering:

This release also brings the game's third complimentary story episode, titled "A Puzzlement." True to its name, "The Mystery" also includes a new environmental puzzle that may finally shed light on some unresolved questions from the main storyline.
